Metres in it after 10k

KENT men's and women's representative teams were second and fourth in the inaugural National 10k in Cheltenham on Sunday.
Medway and Maidstone's Barry Royden (22nd) and Michael Coleman (23rd) battled throughout and were separated by a few metres at the finish.
The scoring four was completed by Anthony Webb (52nd) of Ashford AC and Scott McDonald (54th) from Sevenoaks for an excellent second overall.
Kent's women were headed by British international Andrea Green (11th) of Dartford Harriers from the first over-40 veteran, Alison Fletcher (14th) of Dulwich Runners.
Former Dartford Harrier, Nicola Thompson (45th) of Charnwood AC, closed the team along with the experienced veteran Janice Moorekite (61st) of Invicta East Kent from Maidstone.
The race was a first attempt to combine the AAA Championships and National Inter-Counties Championships in a combined British Championship event but the results service and general race administration was not up to the quality of the competition.
