Gillingham defender Aaron Morris set for six weeks on sidelines after recurrence of hamstring injury
00:01, 09 January 2015
Defender Aaron Morris is set for another spell on the sidelines.
The right-back only recently returned from a hamstring injury but is out again with the same problem. He has already missed more than two months of the season and his latest setback looks like keeping him out for five to six weeks.
Coach Steve Lovell said: “That was disappointing to get that at Port Vale. But Gavin Hoyte has come in and done a good job.”
The Gills were due to assess three other players ahead of Saturday's match against Crewe – Joe Martin, Bradley Dack and John Egan, who played the second half of Tuesday night’s game against Bristol City with stitches in his foot, following a collision.
Lovell said: “The true warrior that he (Egan) is, he came out and had a good second half.
"Joe Martin has done something to his calf and Bradley Dack had done something to his knee. They are only minor, hopefully.”
