Keeper Stuart Nelson hopes Sheffield United get a taste of their own medicine this weekend.

Cup heroes United ran Tottenham close in the Capital One Cup semi-final and reached the fourth round in the FA Cup.

Under boss Nigel Clough, the Blades have made a habit of turning over bigger teams in cup competitions, including a 3-0 win at QPR earlier this season.

The Gills will now be looking to get one over League 1’s big spenders to make it three wins in a row at Priestfield on Saturday.

“In one-off games everyone has a chance, as they have proved in cup games,” said Nelson. “We are at home and I don’t think many teams like coming down here and playing us.

“The fans will be behind us, as they have been all season, and won’t make it easy for them.

"I wouldn’t want to be a Sheffield United player coming here Saturday, with the crowd and the form the boys have found themselves in.

“There is a lot of confidence in the side, not over-confidence, because we know we are still in a precarious position in the league, but as a young squad we are learning as we go along and getting good momentum with the positive results. That is key.”
