Gillingham yet to pay Championship side Brentford for striker Luke Norris

Luke Norris may have scored the goal of the season so far last Saturday but Gillingham have yet to pay for him.
The 21-year-old arrived at Priestfield in the summer after turning down a contract offer with Championship Brentford in favour of a move to the Gills.
He turned professional with the Bees in the summer of 2012, after impressing in the youth ranks and was offered a third one-year deal in the summer.
But Gills boss Peter Taylor admitted the two clubs are still negotiating a fee. Brentford are due compensation for the player as he was under 21 when he signed for Taylor’s side.
“We are still talking to Brentford now, it is on-going,” Taylor confirmed.
“Thankfully, things like (Saturday’s goal) don’t make any difference (to the fee) as it is at the time you sign him.”
Brentford were disappointed to lose the striker in the summer.
At the time, Brentford academy director Ose Aibangee told the London club’s website: “We offered him a contract because we felt he could grow in to a player that would do well for Brentford in The Championship.”
