Gillingham boss Steve Lovell still counting on recalled striker Josh Parker

Josh Parker returned to the fold in Gillingham’s defeat by Blackpool.
Parker was among those players sent home from training by Steve Lovell in the wake of their 3-1 defeat at Plymouth a fortnight ago.
The striker went away and got himself right and earned a recall on Tuesday night.
He was introduced as a second-half substitute and Lovell is pleased to have him back.
The Gills boss said: “We do it for a reason, for people to go away and assess themselves for their own benefits.
“When Josh came on he had a right go and he looked lively.
“I’ve got no problem with it. I just want them to play well and give everything.
“Sometimes it’s not the effort, it’s the way you put your effort in and that’s something I’ve got to have from everybody.
“I’ve got no problem with people.
"I don’t dislike them, I do it for a reason and I do it for them to sort themselves out and come back better players.
“Hopefully Josh will still have a big say in what we do this year.”
