Callum Peck has joined Chatham who are out to end a hectic month on a high.
Midfielder Peck recently left promotion rivals Ramsgate and has signed for Chats ahead of their Isthmian South East derby at home to Hythe on Saturday.
Manager-chairman Kevin Hake felt his third-placed side were fortunate last weekend as late goals from forward Emmanuel Oloyede and midfielder Jordy Robins saw them come from behind to beat Chichester 2-1.
“I think we got away with one,” said Hake, whose side will play nine matches in October in total having beaten Sheppey 2-1 on Tuesday in the Velocity Trophy.
“We were not at our best and I think fatigue definitely played a part.
“October has been an action-packed month. At this stage of the season, this [nine games] is a lot to contend with, so squad rotation and strength-in-depth is key.
“We have a strong squad and the recent additions of Malachi Hudson, Seidou Sanogo, Daniel Thompson and Callum Peck have only added to that.
“Substitutions have been key this season for us and they have changed the result of games four times already this season. This can make the difference come the end of the season, as every point is vital.
“We have rolled over last season’s ‘never-say-die’ attitude as well, as we got our first 90-minute-plus winner.
“I will fully admit we were not vintage in the game but credit must go to the lads for never giving up.”
Hake, who this week has also been revealed as the new chairman and owner of Gillingham Women, praised Chatham's support with more than 500 people at their last two matches.
He said: “I must say also that our supporters were unbelievable.
“They didn’t stop cheering us on and, as soon as we scored the first, they went up a notch and willed the second to go in.
“The scenes at the end of the game were great and days like that live long in the memory.”
Seidou Sanogo and Oloyede scored in another comeback win in midweek.
They visit Merstham in Round Two of the Velocity Trophy on Monday.
