Ady Pennock admitted he couldn’t contain himself at the end of Friday’s game.
Cody McDonald’s second goal, six minutes into stoppage time, sealed the points for the Gills against Bristol Rovers.
Gills manager Pennock and fellow coach Steve Lovell joined the goal celebrations infront of the Rainham End.
“Emotions take over,” Pennock said.
“I was so happy, really happy and so pleased for everyone involved with the club. It was unbelievable.
“It was five or 10 minutes earlier I wouldn’t have done it, but I looked at my watch and when that went in there were only 30 seconds to go.”

It capped a thrilling climax to Friday’s game, which was poised at 1-1 before McDonald scored on 90 minutes and then wrapped it up in stoppage time.
Pennock said: “We scored but the penalty went against us (to make it 1-1) and I was thinking ‘here we go’ but the players showed their character and heads didn’t go down.
“The strike from Cody for his first goal was top drawer, absolutely top drawer. The second one was special as well. I was really pleased for him, but pleased for everyone.
“Hearing the crowd at the end, we want that every week. It was something special at the end.”
