Gillingham have confirmed the departure of midfielder Josh Pritchard.
Attempts to sell the player failed and his contract was mutually terminated on Tuesday.
Pritchard hasn’t featured for the Gills this season and manager Justin Edinburgh was attempting to finalise an exit for the player before Tuesday’s transfer deadline.
The 22-year-old had been available for transfer since the start of pre-season.
Speaking before the deadline, Edinburgh said: “Unfortunately for him there is not a great deal of interest.”
Gillingham announced on Wednesday that the player had agreed to leave the day before. He had the remainder of the season left on his contract.
Pritchard leaves the club after making 28 appearances and is now free to join another club on a permanent basis.
A Gills statement said: “Gillingham FC would like to thank Josh for his services while at the club and we wish him well in his future career. “
