Devante McKain and Mahlon Romeo are among six players who will leave Gills at the end of the season.
Gillingham revealed that six young professionals will depart while seven players have been offered contracts.
Also departing the Gills are Dan Bent, Aidan Blanchard, Charlie Webster and Josh Staunton, who joined Maidstone on loan until the end of the season on Monday.
McKain was signed from Conference South Maidenhead by former Gills boss Martin Allen while Romeo has featured in the first-team squad in recent weeks. His only first-team appearance also came under Allen, however, on the final away game of the League 2 championship-winning season against Burton.
Michael Freiter and Tom Hadler have been given one-year extensions while Greg Cundle, Mitchell Dickenson and Callum Emptage have all been offered one-year professional deals.
Josh Hare and Aaron Millbank have been offered six-month deals as they look to prove their fitness following respective injuries while Jack Sellens has been invited back for pre-season training after suffering a broken leg.
Gills boss Justin Edinburgh said: "We would like to wish everyone the best of futures in their careers, it is never an easy decision but we have to be fair to the players in their development.
"We thank them for their hard work and effort while they have been at the club.
"With the ones that have got a yes is always a pleasing factor because that's the good part of the job when telling people they've got a deal.
"For them it's the start of the hard work, its well earned and I look forward to working with them.
"We've tried to be fair with everyone and we've spoken to the medical department and will give them adequate chance to prove their fitness.
"Jack will be invited back for pre-season and see if he can earn himself a contract."
