Justin Edinburgh believes Rory Donnelly’s current form makes him undroppable.
The 23-year-old striker has 10 league goals to his name this season.
And Gills boss Edinburgh is delighted the Northern Ireland striker is living up to his expectations.
Edinburgh said: “To score 10 goals from 17 starts is a phenomenal achievement and I am absolutely delighted for him.
“He is continuing to show why I was so keen to bring him here and get his signature.”
Donnelly joined the Gills after being released by Swansea City in the summer.
He has four goals in his last three appearances after ending an 11-game goal drought.
“The goals have come in spells and we would like to see it continue,” said the manager.
“He is certainly undroppable at the present time.”
It isn’t just the goals that have impressed the Gills boss.
Edinburgh said: “He is a team player and his work-rate is phenomenal.
“To have got 10 goals just over the other side of Christmas if a fantastic achievement and hopefully he can continue that.”
