The Southend game was one of the first games I looked for when the fixtures came out and it will be one I’ll enjoy.
It would be good to get our first win against them.
I don’t know what kind of reception I will get – I felt I did well when I was there – but you never know. The fans there were good but it will be interesting. It is not something I am too bothered about, I just want to get out there and get the three points.
It has worked out well for me signing for Gillingham. I have enjoyed myself, the gaffer has given me the freedom to go out and express myself and the boys have been different class.
I have moved house now, just the other side of the Dartford Bridge and I travel in with Josh (Wright) and Marts (Lee Martin), we have a little car school going.
The boys have made me feel welcome, the staff have been brilliant and I am enjoying it.
It will definitely come good for us and we just have to stick together – that’s the fans, manager, the boys and staff.
I was at Southend last season and after the first 12 games we were in the relegation zone but ended up just missing out on the play-offs. Anything can happen. The boys here have been top class, we’ve been sticking together and are just looking forward to getting those first three points.
We’re still upbeat, the boys look in good shape in training and we just need to go and put it into practice at the weekend.
