Peter Taylor looks set for a busy January.

The Gills manager is hoping to tie up loan extensions for several players while shipping others out.

He plans to move “five or six” players out of Priestfield on loans or permanent deals when the transfer window reopens at the start of the new year.

Meanwhile he’ll be hoping QPR pair Max Ehmer and Michael Doughty, along with Charlton’s young defender Harry Lennon will extend their stays.

“There are positions that I will be looking to target but I need to keep them to myself,” Taylor said.

“There is also going to be at least five or six players who will be made available for loans or transfers as well. We do need to have a little bit of a change.

“If I can’t guarantee certain players starts then I think it will be in their interest to go out and play some football. We have a few out now playing football and that is good for them. It would be the same situation in January."

Those players heading out could include Antonio German and Amine Linganzi.

Taylor, meanwhile, has already signalled his interest to QPR that he would like to retain defender Ehmer and midfield Doughty.

Ehmer’s loan deal expires on January 3 while Doughty is currently on a deal until January 24.

“I know Max didn’t have a great second half on Saturday but he had a very good first half and he has been superb since he has been here,” said Taylor. “I will be looking to extend that.

“If Michael and Max are happy then I would be happy to keep it going until the end of the season.”

Central defender Harry Lennon joined on loan from Charlton at the end of November but has yet to make his debut.

“I will also be looking to keep Harry,” the Gills boss said.

“He hasn’t played yet but I think he will be playing soon. He has trained well, he looks the part, a good size, a nice left foot and I want to involve him.”
