Gillingham’s past 30 years have been chronicled in a new book titled Home of the Shouting Men 2.

Main author and editor Andy Bradley has put together the 408-page book over three decades after writing the first one alongside Roger Triggs.

The old version, which is no longer in print, sells for big money where available and the new one - which covers the seasons from 1993/94 to 2023/24 - is set to be a must-have item for supporters, too.

There are many new features this time around with a foreword by club chairman Brad Galinson, interviews with former managers and players and articles by guest contributors.

Those 30 years were some of the best for the club. Priestfield Stadium was transformed, the club reached the second tier for the first time in their history, there have been several Wembley trips and an FA Cup quarter-final appearance, too.

Mr Bradley said: “For various reasons, it has taken a long time, but I believe this to be the most comprehensive book to ever be published on the Gills.”

He adds that it contains “all the information any fan could wish to know about the club’s involvement in any leagues and cup competitions at first-team - second-string and youth team level is also included with much more besides”.

The book has taken nearly 18 months to complete and contains over 600 pictures, including many from the KM archives. Pre-orders are now being taken. The Gills say that a print run will be based on pre-order interest.

The new book has been written in conjunction with the club’s media officer Phill Catterick, Andy Ford and Roger Triggs. The original plan was to produce the book for Christmas 2023 so there is an addendum to cover the complete season which has elapsed since then.

You can pre-order on the Gillingham FC website at a cost of £38.95.
