I was buzzing to be offered a new deal in the summer and hope to just keep on trying to impress.
My youth team coach at Palace said to me that getting a first pro contract is the easiest one.
The next one is harder and the one after that is even harder still. I am on the right track to get my second year deal and want to keep it going now.
My first appearance this season came against Scunthorpe and I was happy with the way I played. I showed the fans what I am capable of.
The League Cup game against Watford was a good one. I got an hour against quality Premier League opposition.
I was playing left wing-back in that match, which was a bit different to where I’ve usually played in my career. I have played right-back before and years and years ago I even used to play centre-back! I was a decent height at the time but I moved to right-back and then to the wing.
Playing in new positions gives you the chance to learn new things. At least if I played centre-back now nobody would beat me in behind!
I won the penalty in that game against Watford and that was a nice moment. I generally win a lot of pens when I play but that was quite nice. Dacky played me through and I just got there before the Watford player. Unfortunately, we couldn’t score from the pen. But we did get the win and all the boys were buzzing afterwards.
I wanted my old team Palace away in the draw but Tottenham is good. They have some good players and it would be a good experience if I was involved there. It would be surreal to be there.
