Oldham haven’t conceded in their last few games but I am desperate to score.
Hopefully, I can get one on Saturday.
The gaffer winds me up in training about not scoring and I have come close, with a header that hit a post here at Priestfield. Once one comes, I am sure more will follow.
Oldham manager Lee Johnson actually spoke to my agent in the summer about a possible move there.
He’s got them playing well at the moment. They may have hit a bit of form but it’s about what happens on the day.
We won’t be worrying about them too much, though and will be taking a lot of confidence into the game following a few wins and a good showing at Coventry.
Coventry was rocking last week and you don’t get to experience games like that often.
There were a few empty seats when we went in after our warm-up but when we came back out, it was packed. We didn’t expect that – it was mad.
There had been a 15-minute delay to let everyone in and we didn’t find that out until just a couple of minutes before we were due to go out.
A steward came in to tell us halfway through the manager’s team talk. Nobody interrupts the team talk and he wasn’t happy!
Luckily, Coventry had a big changing room area where we could do our stretches and we just waited a bit longer. It’s lucky it wasn’t somewhere like Torquay, which was a mobile hut last time I went.
We made a good start to the game but conceded after 10 minutes and you think they are going to get their tails up. But we grew into the game and had a few chances of our own.
I had a chance towards the end where I wish I had made the keeper work a bit harder.
