The Shouting Men with Gillingham striker Luke Norris

Tuesday night’s match against Newcastle was a great experience.
It’s not often you get a chance to test yourself against a side like that.
They did control the game but towards the end, I felt we could have nicked a draw and taken it to extra-time. All of the lads put in a good shift.
I came close to scoring but I think the strike was just too close to their keeper Tim Krul. Had it been a little bit either side, then it could have gone in.
Just before that chance I blocked his clearance but he got a lucky deflection. He even admitted after to me that he got lucky.
Had I scored, I’m not sure how I would have celebrated. I haven’t put much thought into it. I’ll just be focusing on trying to get that first goal to start with.
We’ve got Crewe on Saturday and they haven’t won a league game yet, so I’m sure we’ll be expected to win.
It’s at home as well and we want to be picking up as many three points there as we can. Crewe are on a low so I definitely think they will be there for the taking.
I’m looking forward to Tuesday’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy as we’ll be playing my home town club Stevenage. I only recently moved from there when I signed for Gillingham and it’s where I was born.
My younger brother plays for their youth team. He’s only 10 but he already thinks he’s better than me!
He’s a striker as well and he’s good for his age. Hopefully, he can go far in the game.
