Tough weekend for ice men

THE Invicta Dynamos ice hockey team will be looking for a four-point weekend to maintain their position in the chasing pack in the English National Premier League.
Going into the clashes with Telford Wildfoxes and Slough Jets, the Medway outfit will be looking to repeat last weekend’s tremendous performance, when they drew 4-4 with league leaders Milton Keynes.
Away at Telford will be more a test of discipline than skill as the Wildfoxes have carved out a somewhat fearsome reputation on home ice.
Indeed, the last team to visit St Quintens Gate were second-place Slough who could only draw 3-3 against a Telford side largely depleted through suspensions.
Dynamos player coach Carl Greenhous said: “We may have that good result against Milton Keynes under our belts, but we're hardly on a roll. It’s about time we got our away form up to par if we are to keep progressing.
“We're on the same points now as Chelmsford and Romford and four points this weekend would see us stay in touch and maybe even move up another couple of places. But any away trip to Telford is always difficult as they're a much better team at home than they are on the road.”
On Sunday, the Mos play second placed Slough for the third time. Slough lost 4-1 the last time they were at the Ice Bowl, but beat the Mos 6-4 on home ice.
