Gillingham striker Luke Norris came off the bench on Saturday at Yeovil Town to put his side 2-1 up late on

Luke Norris was pleased to have made an impact on Saturday – even if his goal didn’t turn out to be the winner.
The former Brentford striker struck with two minutes left to put the Gills ahead at Yeovil, only for the hosts to level in injury time.
He said: “I nearly got the winner and that would have been nice.
“I needed a goal, it’s been a while, but it was a shame about not holding on because it wasn’t a penalty (Yeovil’s equaliser came from the penalty spot) but that is what happens in football.
“We started slowly in the first half but I thought we were a lot better in the second. We got a goal back and I thought from then on we were going to go and win it, like we have in the last few weeks.
“It is disappointing but we will look at the positives of it, from the second half. It was just one of those things.”
Norris’ strike made it five goal for the season.
“I have needed it,” said the striker, whose last eight appearances have come off the bench.
“I haven’t played much lately, a few minutes here and there. I just have to bide my time and hopefully when I am called upon again I can start getting a few more.”
