SPECTACLE wearers have raised almost £1,000 for the air ambulances over the last year. pecsavers in Ashford do not charge customers for minor adjustments or repairs to glasses. Instead they ask them to make a donation to Kent Air Ambulance Trust.
Specsavers store director Clive Perry said: "We're delighted to give financial assistance to such an indispensable service and pleased that we're consistently providing large donations.
"We would like to thank all our customers for continually supporting us and in turn supporting the Kent Air Ambulance Trust."
The Kent Air Ambulance Trust is the only helicopter emergency services in the UK that relies entirely on voluntary donations.
Kate Chivers of the trust said: "We have to raise at least £90,000 each month to provide a seven-day service, so we are extremely grateful to local businesses like Specsavers and their customers for their continued support."
