Team of riders from Benenden Hospital Trust to take part in KM Big Bike Ride
09:15, 10 April 2017
A team of staff from Benenden Hospital Trust will take on the KM Big Bike Ride this month.
Staff from IT, radiology, theatre, continence care and human resources will tackle either the 50km or 100km routes of the annual bike ride. The team will raise funds for the hospital trust’s two nominated charities of the year – Kent Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance, and SERV Kent, who transport blood to hospitals and emergency situations.
Team member Colin Barton, from Ashford, regularly cycles the 15 miles to work and has taken on the marathon Cycle GB – a 600 mile ride from Glasgow to Kent.
He said: “The team are all looking forward to taking on the KM Big Bike Ride and we are delighted to be supporting it as a Trust.”
As well as Benenden Hospital Trust the event is sponsored by Bike Tart of Canterbury and the event’s key partners are Locks of Sandwich and Vattenfall.
The KM Big Bike Ride takes place on Sunday 23 April, 2017 and starts from Betteshanger Park near Deal. To find out more or to book your place visit www.kmcharitychallenge.co.uk
