Hospital "celebrities" on show in charity calendar

Gillingham and Rainham MP Paul Clark went along to lend his support to a fun charity calendar which has just been launched.
Staff at Medway Maritime Hospital have put together a selection of convincing celebrity look-a-likes to raise money for the new Macmillan Cancer Care Unit being built on the Gillingham hospital site.
The calendar, which features doppledangers of celebrities such as Johnny Depp Liz Taylor and Pamela Anderson was the idea of Christina Hemsley, a clinical sister and Tanya Outen, a patient.
Tanya was instrumental in helping Chris put the calendar together by taking photos and also acted as hair stylist and make up artist.
Christina said: “We wanted to do something a bit different which would help raise funds for the new cancer unit being built.
“We’ve done a few quiz nights in the past and then we came up with the idea of a calendar.
"There are so many people at the hospital who closely resemble celebrities.
"Everyone was really supportive and they were more than happy to be photographed for such a good cause.”
A spokesman for Medway NHS Trust added: “We’re really pleased Paul came along to lend his support to the calendar.
“Everyone had great fun making it and it’s going to raise some much-needed funds for a very good cause.”
The calendar costs £7 and copies can be purchased from the League of Friends shop at the hospital.
