The half-day event is free to attend and shares best practice in fundraising, green travel, literacy, and parent-teacher association development.

Charities will learn how to reap the benefits of challenge events staged by the KM Charity Team – including this year’s Zombie Charge on October 28 and Buster’s Charity Firewalk on November 5.

Other events run by the charity include the KM Colour Run, KM Charity Walk, and KM Dragon Boat Race.

Plus Simon Dolby, chief executive of the KM Charity Team, will lead a master class in completing applications to become KM Charity of the Year.

A workshop by the charity’s deputy CEO Rebecca Smith will detail how to maximise chances of winning funding from charitable trusts and institutional bodies.

And chartered accountants Kreston Reeves will host a session on current issues affecting the charity sector.

For school staff and governors, workshops will focus on literacy, green travel, road safety, health and wellbeing, and Pupil Voice initiatives.

And a showcase of leisure attractions will see Leeds Castle demonstrating how to fit school excursions into the national curriculum.

Delegates are also welcome to attend the charity’s annual general meeting before the forum starts.

Mr Dolby said: “The forum is packed with essential information that fellow charities, PTAs and schools can put into practice, and experts will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.

“And of course there is the chance to network over coffee with like-minded colleagues. Each year, the event attracts hundreds of people and they leave truly inspired.”

The forum will be at the Mercure Maidstone Great Danes Hotel. It is free to attend but places must be booked in advance at www.KmCharityTeam.co.uk/Booking

Businesses interested in supporting the forum should contact Simon Dolby at sdolby@thekmgroup.co.uk or on 07989 164 752.
