HUNDREDS of people are expected to turn out to remember a fund-raiser and staunch health campaigner at a memorial service.
The service for Peggy Mrs Wood, who died in November aged 81, will be held at All Saints' Church, Mill Street, Maidstone, on Wednesday, January 17, at 2.30pm.
All are welcome at the public memorial service to Mrs Wood, from Maidstone, who raised £3.5 million over 25 years for cancer patients.
Mrs Wood was awarded the Freedom of the Borough for her services to the community.
She raised funds for local health services through her charity, the Kent Leukaemia and Cancer Equipment Fund, which was last year renamed the Peggy Wood Foundation.
