Employees from the Romney Resource Centre are taking part in the KM Assault Course Challenge on Saturday, October 4 to raise money for the Pilgrims Hospice - and there’s still time for other teams to sign up.

Dubbed the Romney Resource ‘Centaurs’, the team will compete dressed as St Trinian’s school girls and teachers in the hopes of winning the prize for best fancy dress.

The registered charity provides a range of training opportunities for people aged 14 to 80, of any skill level, and who are in work or unemployed.

Charlie Harston, lead employment adviser at the Centre, said: “We believe in helping the local area, working with companies to source job opportunities and training to add to the economic growth and social wellbeing of our community.

“The Pilgrims Hospice is something close to our hearts. They have helped many people close to me live out their last days in comfort and happiness. This is something you can never say thank you enough for.”

Anyone wishing to sponsor the team can do so at https://www.justgiving.com/Charlie-Harston.

Event organiser Dominic Comins of the KM Charity Team said: “The Challenge is a lot of fun. Where else can you see family, friends and co-workers tackle tunnels, balance beams, a rope walk - and plenty of mud of course!”

He added: “It’s not a race so almost any level of fitness can handle the 530m course, although participants must be 14 years or older.”

Prizes include £250 to spend at Bluewater shopping centre for the biggest individual fundraiser.

Sponsored by Fairweathers Solicitors and London Fancy Box the Challenge takes place at Fowlmead Country Park. Teams can support any good cause of their choice.

To book, visit www.kmcharitychallenge.co.uk and use the code KMAC14DL to receive a £12 discount.
