Runners will once again pound the pavements of Tonbridge and race along country lanes to raise vital funds for local good causes.
Now in its 11th successive year, the Tonbridge Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 9 October at The Judd School, Brook Street, Tonbridge.
This popular sporting event known for its challenging hills and stunning scenery, regularly attracts over a thousand runners to compete. With full road closures, the 13.1 mile (21km) route follows an accurately measured pan shaped course.
Starting in South Tonbridge, runners will pass through the picturesque Kent countryside, to the crowd lined streets of the historic village of Leigh.
As an inclusive event that attracts over a thousand participants, the course is ideal for both experienced runners and those beginners wanting to move up from a flat to hillier course.
All finishers will receive an inhouse designed bespoke medal. Souvenir technical t-shirts will also be available to purchase for £12. Cash prizes and trophies will be awarded to leading runners and age group winners.
All race profits will be donated to charities supported by Lions and Rotary.
This year's Tonbridge Half Marathon is organised by Nice Work, a leading UK race management company, on behalf of Tonbridge Half Marathon CIO.
Managing Director, Rachael Wood said, “It’s great to be part of such a fantastic charitable event, we look forward to putting on a great race for runners and encourage supporters to come along and cheer along the route’’.
