05:00, 04 January 2022
This Baptist chapel built in 1882 has had a thoroughly modern makeover, and is now up for sale for £1.15m.
The converted chapel in Southborough, near Tunbridge Wells, which had served its congregation for more than 100 years, has had such an extensive overhaul, it now comes with underfloor heating and sandblasted brick walls in its loft-style open-plan living areas.
The bespoke kitchen has Miele appliances and a large island, while there are also two bedrooms, one with an en suite bathroom downstairs, and cellar and laundry area.
There is also a separate entrance to the house specially for long, muddy country walks, complete with a dog-wash.
There is also a study or extra bedroom, with the main bedroom suite and dressing room beyond, which has a vaulted ceiling, and en suite bathroom including cast iron claw-foot bath.
Beyond the bedroom is a mezzanine overlooking the living area. Outside there is a large courtyard garden and parking for two cars. To find out more click here.
