Supermarket to add 3,000 to workforce

ASDA, the supermarket giant, have revealed plans to create about 3,000 jobs during the next three years. The company is proposing to significantly increase the number of specialist outlets based in its supermarkets.

It currently has a total of more than 100 stores-within-stores employing about 900 people, but plans to add 461 by the end of 2004.

David Miles, Asda's speciality director, s said: "These jobs represent the widest breadth of opportunities ever offered by a British supermarket."
