Delays as work continues on A249
00:00, 24 November 2005
MORE roadworks on the A249 are expected to cause frustration for motorists.
The work to install safety barriers on the north-bound and south-bound verges of the dual carriageway between Stockbury
and Kemsley is due to finish by Friday, December 2.
The work is being carried out in various locations along the six-mile section of the road between the Stockbury roundabout and the Grovehurst-Kemsley junction.
Lane closures
It includes temporary lane closures on the dual carriageway and slip roads between Stockbury and Grovehurst and a 40mph speed limit.
Graham Link, from the Highways Agency, said: “The lane closures and 40mph speed limit are necessary for the safety of drivers and workers while this work is carried out.”
