TRANSPORT Minister David Jamieson sealed the completion of the £20 million new M2 Bridge at Rochester in Hollywood style - with his handprint.
Mr Jamieson pressed his hand into the final small pour of concrete on the new road. He arrived with local dignitaries and highway officials on the bridge and chatted to some of the workmen who had carried out the construction.
He said: "We are celebrating the milestone of an extremely important scheme. Everyone on the project has to be congratulated for their commitment to make the building of this new bridge a success. This scheme will benefit industry, job creation, commerce and the travelling public and improve the environment for local communities through noise reduction measures incorporated into its design."
The bridge forms a major milestone as part of the Highways Agency's £124 million 17km M2/A2 widening works and the bridge marks the final stage of the scheme.
Mr Jamieson joked: "It's probably the first time a minister has put his paw print like that but I don't know how anyone is going to see it if they are driving past at 70mph."
