00:00, 07 September 2001
FIAT Auto's innovative Multipla six-seater mini-MPV has just been named used car of the year 2002 by Used Car Buyer magazine.
Used Car Buyer is Britain's only dedicated used car magazine and this is the third year that it has run these special awards.
Multipla not only won the top prize beating 10 other category winners in the process, but also best used MPV as well Magazine editor, Ian Cushway, said: "One car is not enough anymore; we need something for the school run, local commute, DIY store excursions and cross-country expeditions. "That's why we chose Multipla.
It is an all-purpose vehicle that dovetails neatly with modern lifestyles. It also happens to be fabulous value for money on the used market."
The judging panel included several of Britain's top motoring pundits and other experts from the motor trade.
In selecting category winners, a number of factors were considered, including availability, value, residuals, image, the ownership experience and how well that car performed in each category.
