Operation Stack causing long delays
15:36, 03 March 2005
RUSH hour traffic is being severely disrupted by queueing lorries on the M20.
Police have implemented phase two of Operation Stack and closed the coastbound carriageway between junction eight, Maidstone, and junction 13 at Folkestone.
All traffic is being diverted onto the A20 at junction eight, with lorries being allowed back onto the motorway to queue.
Operation Stack has been implemented due to problems experienced at the Channel Tunnel.
Meanwhile, the M2 has been reopened between junctions five and six following a serious accident in the early hours of Thursday morning.
