Revving up for steam rally

ABOIUT 20,000 visitors are expected at the annual Kent Steam and Transport Rally which takes place at the Kent County Show Ground at Detling, on Saturday, August 10, and Sunday, August 11.
About 200 vintage cars will take their place at the show alongside a similar number of motorbikes, 40 vintage tractors and more than 20 steam engines. Also there will be vintage commercial vehicles, buses and coaches.
TV vintage vehicle expert Fred Dibnah will be there signing autographs, talking to the crowd and driving engines. Australian stuntman Matt Couller, known as the Kangaroo Kid, will be performing challenges such as jumping more than 100ft on a quad bike over several vehicles.
The rally runs from 10am to 5pm both days. Tickets, available on the day, are priced £5 for adults and £1 for children.
