Rush hour misery after lorry breaks down
11:18, 16 May 2006
DELAYS hit rush hour drivers this morning when a lorry broke down close to a junction with the M20.
Police were called to the A228 near the Castle Lake pub, Leybourne, when the vehicle became detached from its trailer at about 7am, blocking the road.
Officers from Kent County Council's highways department were sent to deal with a spillage.
The road was partially re-opened at 8.15am.
Motorists also had to contend with a broken down car blocking the outside lane of the M20 between junctions 4 and 5, Larkfield and Aylesford.
One driver reported travelling just a mile in 30 minutes.
