Nestlé is bringing back a once-discontinued chocolate bar.
‘Have a break, have a KitKat’ so says the saying – and chocolate lovers are likely to be delighted at the prospect that their next sweet break could include another retro flavour.
KitKat Chunky Hazlenut is back for a limited period, says the confectioner, and ready to ignite a rivalry with its formidable foe KitKat Chunky Peanut Butter.
Now on sale for around 70p a bar, the chocolate bar comprises of a crispy wafer topped with a layer of hazelnut spread wrapped in the familiar KitKat milk chocolate.
KitKat assistant brand manager, Torin Zieboll, said: “It’s been a long time since KitKat Chunky Hazelnut was on sale in the UK, and we couldn’t resist bringing it back for chocolate fans to indulge in a little nutty decadence and turn up the heat on KitKat Chunky Peanut Butter, who has reigned supreme for more than a decade.”
“I’d encourage anyone who didn’t get the chance to try it last time to give it a whirl.”
Those with a sweet tooth often take to social media to call for the return of popular discontinued bars or retro flavours.
Since its launch in 1999, KitKat Chunky has introduced a number of limited-edition bars including Salted Caramel Popcorn, Cookie Dough, Coconut, Chocolate Fudge and New York Cheesecake. KitKat Chunky Hazlenut was last on sale more than three years ago.
Last month Cadbury announced a change to its Dairy Milk Buttons range.
It has started to discontinue individual Dairy Milk Treatsize Buttons that are now only available in multipacks or Christmas ranges and no longer as individual packets.
