We're all guilty of pampering our pooches but is a cake on their special day a little over the top?
This years Google trends showed searches for ‘dog birthday cake recipes’ increased by 100%, but, if you don't like baking there a lots of other things you can do to celebrate your dogs special day.
thortful.com, an online greeting cards company, has gathered the best ways to celebrate your pooch's special day.
The firm even created a range of cards that people can give to their beloved furry friend on its birthday.
To keep your dogs happy on their special day here are some things you can do with your canine:
Full spa day with your dog
Who doesn’t want a lavish spa day? Take the time to pamper your dog with a nice grooming session.
Get rid of any matting, and let your furry friend feel fabulous for a day or two until it rolls in the mud - again.

Throw your pooch a dog-friendly party!
You can bake a delicious cake that your pooch can taste too.
If your dog loves gifts, why not offer them a new toy, and give them a card. Invite your human friends and let them bring their canine companions to the party too.

Explore some new walking routes with your pooch.

Our canine friends love nothing more than to explore and sniff around. Give them the chance to let off some steam.
