There were inuendos galore when eight celebrities descended on an alpaca farm on Romney Marsh for a new TV show last night.

The Alpaca Annie company, based at Haguelands Farm in Burmarsh, featured on the new 5 STAR show Celebs on the Farm, which started this week.

The programme includes the likes of TOWIE’s Megan McKenna and Bobby Norris as well as Dancing on Ice judge Louie Spence taking on a series of challenges that form part of everyday life for farmers in the UK.

In Tuesday's episode, the stars were tasked with conducting a 'body score' - feeling the alpacas to see if they were overweight, and clipping their toenails.

But the celebrities were told to be careful by resident farmers Annie and Lara, as alpacas can kick and move suddenly if they feel threatened.

Ex On The Beach glamour girl Charlotte Dawson and Megan admitted they were nervous and scared of the animals, but others like Louis and Bobby took it in their stride.

It was Louis who was eventually awarded the 'Best in Show' rosette for the day, remarking that 'the more you win, the more you work'.

He beat Megan to the accolade after she failed to show for the morning meeting, which disappointed Farmer Chris Jeffery, who has been mentoring them all.

Annie Clifton-Holt, of Alpaca Annie, said: “The alpacas loved them.

"Our alpacas are gentle animals and naturally inquisitive, which led to a lot of fun and laughter during filming.

"While the programme is full of humour it also showcases the diversity and hard work of UK farmers.”

Alpaca Annie was set up by Annie and Robert Clifton-Holt as a hobby in 2009, and now have a herd that has steadily grown.

The 3,500-acre farm has been a family affair since 1947 when it was purchased by Annie’s father.

The programme is on for the next fortnight, every week night at 10pm.
