Another council rejects Marsh wind farm plan
10:06, 15 January 2003
BROOKLAND Parish Council has voted unanimously against plans to build a wind farm on Romney Marsh.
At a meeting on Friday councillors called for a public inquiry in to the proposed 26-turbine development at Little Cheyne Court.
Concerns were expressed about the special landscape, character, and wildlife of the Marsh, which they felt would be effected by the scheme.
The DTI is due to make a decision later this year on whether the farm can be built off the A259 near Brookland and have been consulting parish councils in the area.
Lydd, Dymchurch and Camber have all voted against the proposal. New Romney has supported it.
