Car gets stuck in English Channel off Dymchurch beach

A group of beach-goers had a rough weekend after their car ended up in the English Channel.
The Volkswagen four-by-four became stranded in the waters off Dymchurch beach yesterday.
It is not known how the vehicle ended up in the perilous position, although cars are commonly only allowed onto the beach to launch or collect boats or jetskis.
Incidents such as these are becoming increasingly common in the area, after a van became submerged on the same beach last month.
Thankfully for the owners of this car, help was quickly on the way.
Two Land Rovers from the South East Off Road Recovery (SEORR) team were called to salvage the vehicle.
Amazingly, the four-by-four was recovered in time to prevent it from being completely ruined.
A spokesperson from the SEORR team said: "It was pulled out just in time.
"Another 20 minutes and it would have been a complete write off.
