A council is preparing to take legal steps to remove an unauthorised camp that has sprung up in a beach car park.
Around 15 caravans arrived in Dymchurch on Romney Marsh on Sunday.
The group parked in the Dymchurch Beach Car Park, which is along Hythe Road near landmark Martello Tower no 25.
It is reported that the height restriction barrier was damaged after the group entered.
Officers from Folkestone and Hythe District Council and police have since visited the site.
Today, 48 hours after the camp set up, the council says it will go ahead and take legal action to ensure the group moves.
A spokesman said: "The encampment at Dymchurch remains.
“Our officers have visited the Martello car park in Dymchurch, and we will be taking legal action to remove the encampment from the site.”
All the caravans have foreign registered number plates.
A second camp pitched up in Ashford over the weekend, on the Eureka Leisure Park. They have since moved.
