Double death tragedy after car crashes into river in Dengemarsh Road in Lydd

Two people have died after a car crashed into a river in Lydd.
The incident involving a grey Mini Cooper happened at around 3.40am yesterday morning in Dengemarsh Road.
Two of the three occupants were freed by emergency services and all were taken to a local hospital.
One man and one woman, both aged in their 20s and from Maidstone, died later the same day. Their next of kin have been informed.
The third occupant, a man, has suffered injuries which are not described as serious.
Serious collision investigation officers are now appealing for witnesses to the collision.
