A fire service spokesman said: "Firefighters were quickly on the scene and worked extremely hard to swiftly bring the blaze under control, enabling several of the specialist appliances to be released from 5.30am. The incident was reduced to two fire engines by 6am.
"Gas and electrics have been isolated and the cause of the fire is being investigated."
Reporter Sean Axtell, who was at the scene this morning, said the fire broke out in the roof of a building that links the site's entertainment complex and the Stable Bar.
He said: "There is some visual damage and there are a significant number of charred roof tiles and some damage to the roof.
"I was told the fire crews arrived fairly quickly and managed to contain the fire and prevent it spreading.
"But there is a strong smell of acrid smoke still in the air. The whole building is probably about 120 yards long, including the bar and the entertainment centre.
"A police car has just arrived and the officers have gone into the building. Two fire engines and a fire car remain at the scene.
"A group of workers are now making the scene safe."
The site contains numerous static caravans used for holiday lets.
A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was made aware of a fire at a holiday park in Dymchurch Road, New Romney, at 4.30am.
"Officers are currently at the scene to assist Kent Fire and Rescue Service. There are no reported injuries.
"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the fire."
