Part of the A2070 in Romney Marsh is closed this morning due to a fire in a field.
Police received reports of two separate hay fires next to the A2070 in Snave and Brenzett.
Officers assisted fire fighters and closed the road between the junction with Hamstreet and Brenzett.
Drivers are being warned to expect disruption in the area, and are being advised to leave extra time for their journey this morning.
Diversions are in place with south bound motorists being sent off the A2070 at the junction with King Street (Walnut Tree Farm) towards the roundabout, before turning east onto the B2080 and rejoining the A2070 at the next roundabout.
Anyone heading north bound are being told to follow the same route in reverse.
At present, the cause of the fire is not known.
