The Coastguard came to the rescue of an injured crewman who has suffered a dislocated thumb while on a survey ship destined for Egypt.
The RNLI Lifeboat took off into the sea and advised the survey ship to alter course in the lee of Dungeness due to difficult weather conditions.
Second Coxswain Trevor Bunney, who was in charge of the lifeboat, was informed the casualty was able to walk down the gangway of the ship thanks to the calmer conditions.
He said: “Good teamwork was done by all. A transfer from ship-to-ship is always challenging and this is why the continual training for our committed volunteers pays off.”
