A man and woman were freed by firefighters after a crash between a van and car in Romney Road, Lydd

A man and a woman were freed from wreckage after a crash involving a van and a car.
It happened at Romney Road, Lydd, at 7pm yesterday.
About 10 firefighters, from the Lydd and Hythe stations, were called out and were at the scene for over an hour.
The injured man was the driver of the van and the woman a passenger in the Peugeot car.
Police and paramedics also attended and the two victims were taken to hospital by ambulance as a precaution.
The road was re-opened at 8.30pm.
