New Romney: Man charged with nine offences after Cinque Port Arms pub crash

A man in his 20s has been charged with nine offences after a car crashed into a pub in New Romney.
Four people were injured in the incident just before 10pm on Friday night, which happened at the Cinque Port Arms in the high street.
Police have now charged 24-year-old James Bates, of Blenheim Road in New Romney, with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
He is also accused of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, assault by beating and six counts of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm.
He has been remanded in custody and will appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
