A man has been fined after being caught throwing a bag of dog poo onto private land.
The man was hit with the penalty after eyewitnesses saw him throw the bag in Adie Road in Greatstone.
Folkestone and Hythe District Council issued a Fixed Penalty Notice of £100 following the incident last week.
The council also revealed that more than 100 sacks of dog poo had been found in the area by investigators - although a spokesman emphasised they were not claiming they were all dumped by the same person.
A statement on the council's official twitter account read: "Whilst [the offender] has paid the FPN, his details are held on our records for five years.
"The council will prosecute him immediately for any future offences.
"This was all made possible because eyewitnesses reported the issue.
"Everyone can do their bit for the local environment"
"They provided plenty of information including the sort of time these incidents were taking place.
"Everyone can do their bit for the local environment, either by not leaving waste in the first place and taking it home or placing it in a normal/designated bin (preferable) – or reporting the small majority who aren’t so considerate."
