A man was left with serious injuries after being hit in the face with a gas canister while dancing at a music festival.
The violence erupted at Dream Valley at Lydd Airport between 5.30pm and 6.30pm on Saturday, May 28.
A police spokesman said: "It was alleged that following an altercation with someone in the crowd while dancing in one of the tents, the victim was hit with a metal object, thought to be a gas canister.
"He sustained serious facial injuries that required hospital treatment."
PC Daniel Sains added: "Enquiries with the victim, witnesses and event organisers have been ongoing to confirm further details of the assault, and we are now appealing for anyone who attended the festival and saw this assault to come forward.
"Anyone who might have been filming in the tents around that time and has footage that could assist is also asked to get in touch."
Witnesses should call police on 01843 222289 quoting 46/105321/22.
The dance festival was being held for the first time in Lydd, having originally been due to take place in Danson Park in Bexley.
Its line-up included big names such as Basement Jaxx and Idris Elba.
