Police crash sparks dash-cam plea: Dymchurch Road in St Mary's Bay
15:41, 12 June 2018
A crash involving a police motorcyclist on a training course and a car has ignited a public appeal for dash-cam footage.
A marked police motorcycle was travelling along the A259 Dymchurch Road in St Mary's Bay at 5.13pm on Saturday when it was involved in a collision with a black Mercedes at the junction with Seaway Road.
Officers and South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the scene where the motorcyclist, a police officer, was treated for injuries and then taken to a local hospital for further medical attention.
He is currently in a stable condition in hospital.
Officers from the Kent Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating the incident but have not said if they have spoken to the driver.
Sergeant Jason Heather said: "We are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the vehicles immediately before or during the collision, or who have dashcam footage, to contact us."
Witnesses can call the SCIU appeal line on 01622 798538 quoting DB/JH/79/18 or email sciu.td@kent.pnn.police.uk.
