People have been all-a-Twitter about a mystery stone man found lying on the wilds of Dungeness.

Tweets have been circulating, seeking answers as to why there is a statue of a man lying at Denge Marsh Gully - but it's been there for 20 years.

Owen Leyshon, of the Romney Marsh Countryside Project, said: "It has been there all that time although nobody knows why it was put there or by whom."

The object, on the RSPB reserve, does show signs of age, such as moss on parts of the man's body and cracks on the legs.

But because it is in such a remote area few people will have come across it.

So it surprises many passers-by - even after all this time.
