UK Power Networks said that supplies were interrupted to 26 customers at 6.24am yesterday (Monday) due to a storm.

Another 51 properties were affected just after 10am due to the fault developing from there.

Lights remained out this afternoon and a UKPN spokesman said: “We understand how difficult it is being without electricity, particularly in the colder weather, and we are sorry for any inconvenience that was caused.

"Our engineers reconnected electricity supplies as quickly as possible while our customer service staff kept people updated.”

Power was restored to 67 customers at 1.24pm that day and another four at 3.45pm.
All but three properties had electricity again by 2am today.

Two of these had it back by 9.05am and access was needed before electricity could be restored to the last affected property.
